Avatar 2 formally announced as ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, know about release

Avatar sequel’s title has been formerly revealed on Wednesday at CinemaCon as ‘Avatar: The Way of Water. The James Cameron film was being produced for many years and is counted among the most anticipated releases of all time. And after speculating for months, 20th Century Studios–the studio which is producing it–has finally also posted a formal release date. The film is scheduled to launch on December 16, 2022. The Way of the Water follows the events of Avatar and focuses on the Sully family.

Avatar 2 is the second out of total five film franchise that have been planned. According to a release by Disney, Avatar: The Way of Water is coming back after more than a decade after the events of the first film and so it begins to tell the story of the Sully family. The story goes like this. Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) have made a small family and now they need to protect them from all new dangers. The film portrays the trouble that comes their way, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight just to survive, and the tragedies they suffer.

Avatar from 2009, became the highest-grossing film of all time with a overall box office collection of $2.84 billion worldwide. It was the first film to go beyond the $2 billion mark. To whet audiences’ appetites, the studio will re-release the old Avatar in cinema houses on September 23, less than three months before the sequel comes out. Industry analysts say that this is being done to introduce the franchise to new audience, who may have missed it as the film released 13 years ago.

Directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, the new sequel Avatar: The Way of Water will star Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore, Cliff Curtis, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, Giovanni Ribisi, and Kate Winslet.
