‘Agnipath’ recruitment scheme: Students Protesting in Bihar set train on fire

After the announcement of Agnipath Recruitment Scheme the aspirants have created huge ruckus and have set a passenger train on fire in the Ara railway station after they were pelting stones across Bihar. They are demanding that the government should take back the decision and scheme where the government had recently announced that the Soldiers will be recruited for Army and will serve the nation for 4 years. They are demanding that they want the old ways if Recruitment and roll back Tour Of Duty (ToD). They say that nobody will join the Army for just 4 years because after that they won’t have a job to do.

The protest against the Agneepath scheme brought by the central government for recruitment in the army in Bihar took a violent turn on Thursday. Furious protesters torched a bogie of an intercity train at Bhabua Road railway station in Kaimur district. However, there was no harm to the passengers. Protesters vandalized platform 4 at Ara Junction railway station. Goods were also looted from the station shops here. The bogie of a train parked in the yard of the railway station in Chhapra was set on fire. There have been reports of vandalism in buses and markets at many places in the city.

While all this is going on police have gathered in the railway station and have fired tear gas to disrupt the violent protesters. In some parts of Bihar the protesters have gathered and torched a bus and set a bus on fire and have lit the tires on fire in the center of the road.
